Entrepreneur and Engineer Sayan Biswas, PhD

Sayan Biswas, PhD, is an experienced engineer and business leader who has focused his efforts on science and technology policy, as well as sustainable climate solutions and green engineering. He has extensive experience as a researcher and educator in mechanical engineering, a role in which he developed and managed a federally and state-funded academic research lab with a budget of over $6 million and support from NASA, the United States Department of Defense, and the US Department of Energy. Afterward, Sayan Biswas, PhD, served as a science and technology policy fellow at the Department of Energy. In the past, he held positions with Sandia National Laboratories, Praxair, Inc., and Purdue University.

Throughout his career, Sayan Biswas, PhD, has established himself as a member of several professional organizations. His affiliations include the Combustion Institute, the American Society of Engineers, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, to name only a few.

Sayan Biswas earned his doctorate in aerospace engineering from Purdue University. He won the Springer Thesis Award and the Magoon Award for Excellence in Teaching, among other accolades. He also holds a master of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut. He actively engages with the broader engineering community through leading industry forums, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition.
